Can arrogance be equated with speech or an action that is one's own claim of his/her authority? In other words, is it "the pot calling the kettle black" for someone to tell another that he/she is arrogant?
Matthew 5:38-48, NASB
"You have heard that it was said, 'An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.' But I say to you, do not resist an evil person; but whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also. If anyone want to sue you and take your shirt, let him have your coat also. Whoever forces you to go one mile, go with him two. Give to him who asks of you, and do not turn away from him who wants to borrow from you. You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. One can be arrogant, label another arrogant, and still be correct. But I don't see any necessity for someone to be arrogant to recognize it in another.
Also, a humble person calling out arrogance can be wrong in his/her assessment.
Why are we calling out arrogance anyway? What does that accomplish? It just starts a fight between my wife and I.

When Jesus was speaking with Authority, was he being arrogant?

jesus as god in flesh was in fact authoritative. but for me in my broken humanness to claim myself as authoritative may be arrogant. for jesus, he was, so that is not an issue.

SO when broken Humans claim authority they don't have, is arrogance. I was listening to Dr. Charles Stanley on the radio the other night. He's arrogant.
Now have I immediately claimed that I have more Authority than Dr. Charles Stanley?
Can we call out those who are in positions of Authority whom are using fear and power to scare people into idolatry in the name of Christ and remain humble?

I can't make a claim to be humble, and use that as grounds for authority. Although I believe there is authority with humility, humility doesn't make claims to itself.
Does one who is humble seek authority or find authority?
for one with humility authority is not an issue.
Since there are evil principalities in the world that require reformation, since I'm not God in flesh, is there a way for me to know what is authoritative and what's not?
