Justice Defined.

What is justice? (I almost posted an image but chose not to at the risk of inadvertently informing opinions, thoughts, and ideas on justice).

I'm becoming skeptical of definitions as anything other than working meanings in a specific context, but I like to think of justice as "everything in its proper relation-set", meaning that justice is not outcome-based or consequence-driven, but rather a matter of the current state of affairs and one's participation in it. It's relational, not mathematical--righteousness, not equality.

Matthew 5:38-48, NASB

"You have heard that it was said, 'An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.' But I say to you, do not resist an evil person; but whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also.
